Arsenal have been linked with a shock move to bring Robin van Persie back to north London this summer.
The Dutchman inspired Manchester United to the Premier League title in his first season at Old Trafford, after Arsene Wenger sold him to their fierce rivals for £24million in 2012.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Wenger is now keen to bring Van Persie back to the Emirates with the player himself apparently open to the move.
It has been widely reported that the 30-year-old forward has grown frustrated at Old Trafford this season, with an increasingly uneasy relationship with new manager David Moyes.
And it is claimed the United boss could be willing to off-load Van Persie this summer as long as fellow striker Wayne Rooney commits his long-term future to the club.
Wenger doesn’t usually like to buy aging players but would make an exception for Van Persie who could be available for around £15million.
