Manchester United Centre-Back Rio Ferdinand Considers MLS Move

 Ferdinand Testimonial

Veteran Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is said to be weighing up the possibility of ending his illustrious playing career across the Pond in Major League Soccer (MLS), according to reports in the Mail on Sunday.

Ferdinand is believed to now be weighing up a number of offers that are currently on the table for next season which are thought to also include being handed the opportunity to end his career with a big-money move to either China or the Middle East too.

However, it is thought most likely that the Englishman will instead spurn those mega-rich deals and join a MLS franchise, which the player very nearly did a year who when moving to Chicago Fire, before the central defender then signed a one-year contract extension at the Theatre of Dreams.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand is expected to hand United another timely booster ahead of this weekend's trip to Stoke City.

The defender has been laid low with a knee problem for the last three weeks, but is now training without any issues and could be handed a recall at the Britannia Stadium.
