Preview: Manchester Utd vs Everton

Having been manager for 11 years, David Moyes will come up against the Merseysiders for the first time tonight since he left the club to take charge of Manchester United in the summer. With 13 games played by both sides in the premier league, the Toffees now managed by Roberto Martinez are fifth in the premier league while Man Utd are three places adrift at eighth. This is a must win encounter for the champions if they are to keep pace with the league leaders, Arsenal. It is not clear whether Robin Van Persie will be back in the squad having sat out of recent fixtures with toe and groin injuries.Phil Jones meanwhile will miss out due to suspensions having picked as many yellow cards which could see Ryan Giggs who recently celebrated his 40th birthday being recalled to midfield alongside either Tom Cleverley or Marouane Fellaini.Martinez however has no new concerns for the match.Only recent absentees Darron Gibson, Leighton Baines and Arouna Kone are not available. The visitors have not won at Old Trafford since August 1992 when Peter Beardsley was among the goalscorers in a 3-0 victory over the hosts.
