13/01/14: David Moyes' presence at Cagliari's 4-1 defeat to Juventus has sparked speculation in the Daily Mail and elsewhere that he was watching possible transfer targets.
The boss was photographed in the stands to prompt talk of Cagliari defender Davide Astori plus Juventus duo Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio being the main focus of attention. France international Pogba, of course, left United to join Juve in 2012 and is rated in excess of £30million with the Daily Express claiming in an 'exclusive' that the Reds are determined to bring him back to Old Trafford this month.
13/01/14: The Daily Star believes United are closing in on a loan deal for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao. The defender was reportedly close to joining the Reds during the final hours of the summer transfer window and has been out of favour at the Bernabeu.
13/01/14: Chelsea and United are tracking Rayo Vallecano prospect Saul Niguez, according to the Daily Mirror. The 19-year-old midfielder is on loan from Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have also been linked with a bid for his services in the past week.
13/01/14: Portuguese publication A Bola reports Nemanja Matic is on the brink of rejoining Chelsea. The Serbian midfielder has been strongly linked with United but could be poised to head to West London ahead of Sunday's clash between the two clubs at Stamford Bridge.
