Man Utd-Robin van Persie fallout claims dismissed by David Moyes

Manchester United manager David Moyes has rejected claims Robin van Persie is unsettled at the club and has dismissed talk of a fallout with the striker.

Van Persie has struggled with fitness in his second season at United, and for some time it has been rumoured that he is unhappy with new training methods introduced by Moyes, who took charge of the club last summer.

The 30-year-old has been linked with a return to former club Arsenal, while weekend reports linked him with a move to Juventus.

Ronald De Boer last week said he believes the Netherlands international could seek a move when the transfer window re-opens at the end of the season.

But Moyes insists he still has a strong working relationship with Van Persie despite United's struggles this season.

"I couldn't reply to that and I wouldn't know how Ronald de Boer would know that," he told reporters.

"I travelled back from the [Holland] game with Robin the other night. I went to the game, watched them play and travelled back with him. I hardly feel I need to answer the question."

Former Netherlands captain Ruud Krol said he believe Van Persie is unsettled in Manchester, while De Boer had said: "Robin feels that, unless there is investment in new, young, great players from other clubs, then he will move on.

"Van Persie wants to compete for trophies and everything this year looks out of sight.

"It’s very disappointing for a player of his quality. I don’t think he’s enjoying the football United are playing."
