Manchester United 'keen on bringing ex-Arsenal midfielder Alex Song back to the Premier League

The Cameroonian has struggled to break into Barcelona's starting line-up since arriving in 2012 and David Moyes could make a summer move

Barcelona midfielder Alex Song could be set for a Premier League return this summer, with Manchester United reportedly interested.

The 26-year-old moved to the Nou Camp at the start of last season, but has made just 32 appearances in all competitions since then.

United and former club Arsenal were both linked with a cut-price deal in december, although Song was determined to prove himself in Catalonia.

But according to Spanish publication Sport, the Cameroonian is eager for regular first-team football next season and Red Devils' boss David Moyes is ready to make a move.

Song's agent is Darren Dein, son of former Gunners' chairman David, with a return to the Emirates also a possibility.

He was handed a rare opportunity to start for Barca against Real Sociedad on Saturday, although the clash in San Sebastian was one to forget for Song.

The ex-Arsenal man scored an own goal to give the hosts the lead as Gerardo Martino's men slipped to a 3-1 defeat and three points behind Real Madrid at the La Liga summit.
